About
Meet JB Simon
JB Simon is a wellness and resilience educator, writer, and advocate dedicated to helping people navigate life’s challenges with greater steadiness, purpose, and hope.
The name JB Simon serves as both a name and a platform. Rather than focusing on the individual behind the work, Console the Soul focuses on the ideas, lessons, and conversations that help people grow. The goal is simple: to create practical, thoughtful content that encourages self-reflection, resilience, personal responsibility, and meaningful connection.
Drawing from experiences in mental health, faith, community service, and education, JB writes about wellness, parenting, emotional health, purpose, relationships, and personal growth.
At its core, Console the Soul exists to encourage people to care for themselves, care for others, and continue growing—even when life feels difficult.
My Story
My professional journey began with a fascination for human behavior, motivation, and resilience.
I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology followed by a Master’s degree in Social Work. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with individuals and families from many different backgrounds and life experiences.
My experience includes work in inpatient psychiatric settings, case management, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Drug Court programs, and Diversion Court services. These roles have provided opportunities to support individuals experiencing mental health challenges, substance use concerns, behavioral difficulties, life transitions, and barriers to stability.
Outside of my professional work, I remain actively involved in my local community and church. I participate in worship ministry, teach children, facilitate community support groups, and volunteer with senior adults. These experiences continually remind me that healing, growth, and connection happen in many different places—not just in offices or formal programs.
Several populations remain especially close to my heart:
- The African American community
- Native American communities
- Men and boys
- Parents and caregivers
These groups often face unique challenges while carrying significant responsibilities. Many of the articles, resources, and reflections found on this site are inspired by conversations, observations, and lessons learned while serving others.
While the stories shared throughout this site are educational in nature, they are ultimately rooted in a belief that every person has value, dignity, and the capacity to grow.
